WAT’s Inaugural Virtual Fundraiser
WAT! (We Adopt Too, pronounced “what”) will be having its Inaugural Virtual Fundraiser in August and we want to share ways that you can support. First, an introduction to WAT: WAT is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides adoption grants to Black families seeking to adopt. Our mission is to help increase the number of Black adoptive families by offering financial assistance and increasing adoption awareness in the Black community. Many Black expectant/birth parents would prefer to have Black families adopt their children, but the pool of prospective adoptive families is limited. Because of this, we focus on filling the void in resources catered to prospective Black adoptive parents. To date WAT has given out adoption grants to 13 Black Families, totaling $35,000.
The following are ways you can support WAT during its Inaugural Virtual Fundraiser on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 7 PM to 9 PM.
- Become a Sponsor. Click here to see the various Sponsorship levels (based on amount donated) and the benefits that accompany each level. I highly recommend being a sponsor if you’d like to promote your business or organization. All sponsors also receive one (individual) ticket to the event.
- Participate* in the Team Trivia Tournament. We are looking for 16 Teams (4 people/ team) to complete our Tournament. Questions will be taken from the hit game “Black Card Revoked”. Team ticket is $150 (covers all 4 team members) and can be purchased at this link. The award for the winning team is $1,000. After purchasing ticket send an email to [email protected] with 1) The names of all 4 players, 2) the emails for all 4 players, and 3) a Team name (optional). The emails are critical so that I can send access to the event. Links to event and game instructions will be sent closer to event date.
- Participate* as an Individual. If you purchase an individual ticket ($50, click here) you will be able to watch the tournament, but also have a chance to play the game with other individuals for a chance to win $500 and other prizes. Links to event will be sent closer to event date.
- Donate an item(s) for the Silent Auction during the event. Send email to [email protected] if you would like to donate an item for the auction.
- Donate an item(s) to giveaway during the event. Send email to [email protected] if you would like to donate an item to giveaway.
- Donate any amount. If you’d like to give but can’t meet the Sponsorship levels, you can still give any amount you’re able to at this link.
- Spread the word. Please share the above information with other individuals, organizations, and or companies you feel would like to support our cause.
*All participants (whether on a team or individual) will have opportunities during the event to browse virtual booths for event sponsors, participate in the silent auction, network with individuals throughout the country, and win prizes.
